Bikers from across the country are revving up their engines getting ready for Roar on the Shore Bike Rally, which will begin on Wednesday, July 15th. This event, hosted by the Manufacture’s and Business Association, brings more than 100,000 bikers and bike enthusiasts into the region. The event takes place in the heart of downtown Erie in Perry Square and down State Street.
Roar is a three-day rally of rides, bands, bike contests, custom motorcycles, bike accessories and more that brings thousands of people into the downtown area. This is one of the fastest growing free bike rallies in the United States and is held right here in our community!
Not only is it good for the local economy but it is also a benefit to local charities as well. This year’s rally will benefit Erie Homes for Children and Adults Project First Step. Project First Step serves the highest-risk individuals and families in the community. Staff members frequently work with clients living 300 percent below the poverty level, many of whom are dealing with additional stressors of physical or intellectual disabilities, homelessness, domestic violence, drug or alcohol dependency, or mental health issues. The festivities will begin with Grand Marshall, Jesse James Dupree, leading more than 5,000 riders through the streets of Erie for the Roar on the Shore Parade on July 16th. There will be eight local and regional bands playing during the weekend. There will also be rides, special events, vendors and more taking place in downtown and the surrounding Erie area during this exciting weekend.
We want to make businesses aware of the huge crowds expected to be Downtown this weekend. This event is a great opportunity for us to showcase what downtown has to offer and for you to showcase your business! Thank you for keeping your businesses clean and attractive for our guests.
