The weekend marks the beginning of Celebrate Erie, a four day street festival that showcases all that is downtown Erie. The festival will run from August 14th through the 17th between 4th and 12th Streets on State Street. Celebrate Erie allows free access to the local art museum, displays and demonstrations from local artists, street vendors, and entertainment and activities designed to encourage the arts. This event brings local and nationally renowned musical artists of different genres to perform a live show in the streets of downtown Erie. The festival is broken up into six zones where visitors can experience all of Erie. The zones include Celebrate Diversity, Kids Zone, Kids Construction Zone, Chalk Walk, Taste of Erie and the Artist Colony. This event that has something everyone will enjoy.
The Erie Downtown Partnership is proud to sponsor Celebrate Erie with the Taste of Erie Stage located in the zone that gives visitors the chance to try different restaurants that are uniquely Erie. Our mission is to work towards the continued revitalization of downtown through the improvement of its image, business climate, physical environment and design. Celebrate Erie helps improve the image of downtown as well as it’s business climate through showcasing the community and its businesses. The festival brings over a hundred thousand people into downtown, creating visibility for the businesses in the area and showcases select businesses as vendors throughout the festival. The thousands of people visiting downtown support our local establishments and boost our downtown economy. We would like to thank our friends at the City of Erie for putting on this event and we are happy to be apart of another great weekend in downtown.
Aside from Celebrate Erie, there are many events happening in downtown this weekend including dining options, live music, show and sporting events.
